Travel 2 hours to the area surrounding the beautiful colonial town of Mucugê and there are several sites to see. Plan your day to fit your interests. The Byzantine Cemetery in Mucugê is home to tombs and crypts built on natural stone ledges and is the main attraction of this town. The Enchanted Pool is an underground lake with crystal clear water over 50 meters deep, that allows you to see the bottom of the cave. Sunlight penetrates through a natural “window” in the cave and makes the water an exquisite blue. This is a must see on your trip to the Chapada. Nearby Poço Azul is also worth a visit.
